Efecto de diferentes crioprotectores sobre la criopreservación del semen de cerdo Pelón Mexicano

El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto crioprotector del tipo de azúcar en el diluyente sobre la criopreservación del semen de cerdo pelón mexicano. Se obtuvieron 30 eyaculados de cinco verracos sexualmente maduros, los cuales fueron mezclados, diluidos y congelados en cuatro diferentes crioprotectores: glucosa (T1), lactosa (T2), fructosa (T3) y trehalosa (T4). La descongelación se realizó a 37 °C y se evaluaron los parámetros de motilidad (sistema CASA), viabilidad espermática (IP), actividad mitocondrial (JC-1), integridad del acrosoma (FITC-PSA) y de la membrana plasmática de la cola (Host). La Motilidad total (MT) y la velocidad de la trayectoria media (VAP) fueron superiores (P < 0.02) en T1 y T2, mientras que la velocidad curvilínea (VCL) fue mayor (P < 0.05) en T1. Las otras variables asociadas a la motilidad fueron similares (P>0.05) al igual que la viabilidad y la membrana espermática de la cola. La actividad mitocondrial fue mayor (P < 0.005) en T2 y T4. La integridad del acrosoma fue mayor (P<0.001) en T2 y T4. En conclusión, el diluyente con lactosa es el más adecuado para la criopreservación del semen de cerdo pelón mexicano.
