Fermentação in vitro e digestibilidade ruminal das silagens de Sorghum bicolor e Cajanus cajan

O sistema de produção de bovinos de duplo propósito é o mais predominante nos trópicos, caracterizado
por um sistema de pastejo extensivo de gramíneas nativas ou introduzidas com baixa digestibilidade e altas
concentrações de carboidratos estruturais, causando uma baixa eficiência produtiva dos sistemas. Diante
desse cenário, é necessário buscar alternativas para melhorar a eficiência produtiva. O objetivo foi avaliar
a fermentação anaeróbica e a digestibilidade ruminal in vitro da matéria seca (DIVMS) das silagens de S.
bicolor e C. cajan. Quatro substratos (sorgo, sorgo + C. cajan, C. cajan, sorgo + C. cajan + inoculante) e
quatro tempos de fermentação anaeróbica (0, 30, 60 e 90 dias) foram usados em um projeto
completamente aleatório com um arranjo fatorial 4x4, com três réplicas. A média de MS, MO, PB, FDN e
FDA foi de 373,9±41,43; 960,58±7,59; 87,82±24,95; 588,73±51,17; 371,76±61,39 g kg-1 de MS. Para a
DIVMS, foi de 56,32±9,05 %. Foram encontradas diferenças significativas (P<0.05) para os parâmetros de
fermentação e DIVMS. O volume máximo de gás ocorreu nos tratamentos contendo apenas sorgo e sorgo
+ C. cajan + inoculante. As frações de fermentação rápida foram maiores (P<0.05) nos tratamentos com
sorgo + C. cajan + inoculante. As frações de fermentação média e lenta foram maiores no sorgo e no sorgo
+ C. cajan + inoculante. Conclui-se que a planta C. cajan sozinha ou combinada tem um efeito negativo
sobre a DIVMS.
