Caracterização de isolados de Mannheimia haemolytica e Pasteurella multocida obtidos de crianças com problemas respiratórios

O objetivo deste estudo foi caracterizar e determinar a presença de Mannheimia haemolytica e Pasteurella multocida isoladas de crianças com problemas respiratórios no México. Foi realizada uma amostragem por conveniência em sete estados do México, obtendo-se 1.498 amostras de exsudato nasal de crianças. As amostras foram inoculadas em placas de ágar sangue, os isolados foram submetidos a testes bioquímicos para determinar o gênero e a espécie, e foram encontrados 535 isolados, dos quais 491 foram identificados como M. haemolytica e 44 como P. multocida. Cinquenta isolados de M. haemolytica foram selecionados aleatoriamente para caracterização por PCR em tempo real e PCR de ponto final, e a identificação molecular por ambos os testes foi confirmada em 46 dos 50 isolados. O tipo capsular e o biótipo foram determinados para os 44 isolados de P. multocida, sendo que 36 eram do tipo A e 8 do tipo D.
