Uso del aceite esencial de canela en los sistemas de producción pecuaria

Resumen

Actualmente existe la tendencia mundial de hacer uso de aceites esenciales de diversas plantas aromáticas para optimizar los sistemas de producción pecuaria, esta es una alternativa para reducir el uso de productos químicos los cuales pueden tener efectos negativos sobre la salud de los consumidores; el uso de los aceites esenciales de plantas aromáticas como la canela (género: Cinnamomum) han mostrado tener propiedades beneficiosas en la producción animal, sin embargo, estas propiedades no se han esclarecido en su totalidad, es por ello, que el objetivo de la revisión literaria fue hacer una análisis preliminar sobre el uso de la canela en los sistemas de producción pecuaria. A manera de conclusión se puede decir que el uso de los aceites esenciales de canela, principalmente de las especies Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Cinnamomum cassia y Cinnamomum camphora, han sido una alternativa como aditivos en la alimentación en la producción de especies de animales domésticos donde se ha podido mejorar la nutrición, prevenir enfermedades y mejorar el sistema inmune de los animales, lo que contribuye a mejorar la productividad de los diversos sistemas de producción de animales.
