Elementos inorgánicos potencialmente tóxicos en hígado de aves acuáticas invernantes en Laguna de Santiaguillo, Durango

Resumen

El avance tecnológico e industrial ha sido una causa significativa de la contaminación por metales pesados y metaloides, afectando a los ecosistemas acuáticos habitados por patos y gansos. La Laguna de Santiaguillo en Durango, un refugio crucial para aves acuáticas, enfrenta problemas de contaminación. A pesar de su importancia, no se han llevado a cabo estudios sobre la presencia de contaminantes en las aves de la laguna. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la presencia de elementos inorgánicos en el tejido hepático de la cerceta alas verdes (Anas crecca) y el ganso nevado (Anser caerulescens), así como determinar si representan un riesgo para su salud. Para ello se recolectaron muestras de tejido hepático de 27 ejemplares de ganso nevado y 30 cercetas de alas verdes. La determinación de metales se llevó a cabo mediante la técnica de voltamperimetría. Los resultados revelaron que las concentraciones en las cercetas, de mayor a menor, fueron Al > Ni > As > Cr > Hg > Cu > Zn > Sn > Pb > Cd; mientras que en los gansos fueron Al > Ni > As > Zn > Pb > Cr > Hg > Cu > Sn > Cd. En general, las concentraciones hepáticas de Zn, Cd, Pb, Cu, Al y Hg se encuentran dentro de los rangos no letales; sin embargo, se observaron niveles de exposición a Cr, Sn, As y Ni.
